Joseph "Franchella" Frank, 108, a longtime resident of Port Chester died April 6, 2025. He was born February 7, 1917 in Yellow Dog East Brady, PA to the late Dominick and Irene Troia Frank Franchella. He was raised and educated in Port Chester, He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater with the 8th infantry Division "Pathfinder" and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a Private First Class.
Joseph was a cook for many years at Marianacci's Restaurant in Port Chester and retired at the age of 102. As a young man he was a presser at the Carmel Dress Factory in Port Chester. He was the widower of Pauline Zumbo Frank who died in 2015. Joseph was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester, NY.
He is survived by his beloved sons Don Frank and his wife Joann of Port Chester, NY., Neil Frank of Stamford, Ct. and Joseph Franchella of Port Chester, NY., grandchildren Jessica Maldonado and her husband Joel and Joseph Frank, great grandchildren Jeremy Maldonado and Isabella Maldonado, numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother Nicholas Franchella and sisters Mary Marianacci, Elizabeth Cardea, Phyllis Guardino, Ann Fado, Julia Filippi and Rose Albeke.
Visitation will be 12 Noon on Thursday April 10, 2025 at Craft Memorial Home, funeral service will follow at 1PM. Interment is private.
