Joseph R. Lagano

Joseph R. Lagano, 98 a lifelong resident of Port Chester passed away October 24, 2019. He was born July 18, 1921 in Port Chester to the late Rocco and Anna Calabrese. He was raised and educated in Port Chester.  Mr. Lagano served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater.  He was married to Catherine Bologna on November 9, 1947 at Corpus Christi Church. Mrs. Lagano died May 22, 2010.  He was a supervisor for the shipping department at Donald Art Co. in Port Chester, he retired in 1983.  He was a parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church and attended the Port Chester Senior Center every day.  Mr. Lagano was also a member of the Port Chester VFW Post #1576.  He is survived by his children Richard Lagano and his wife Christine and JoAnn Strazza and her husband Rick all of Port Chester, NY. grandchildren Jennifer DiGilio and her husband Chris, Cristina Strazza, Joseph and Michael Lagano, great grandchildren Christopher and Alyssa DiGilio.  Also survived by his brother Vincent Lagano of Port Chester and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother Frank Lagano and sisters Mildred Postal, Joy Lagano, Antoinette Martinelli, Amelia Grillo, Theresa Ferrucio and Anita Fox. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Sunday October 27, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Monday October 28, 2019 at Parish of St. John Bosco. (Our Lady of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.  Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Lagano may be made to the Port Chester Senior Center 222 Grace Church St. Port Chester, NY 10573
