Joseph D. Siclare, 99, a long-time resident of Rye Brook, NY., died May 19, 2023. Born July 19, 1923 in Port Chester to the late Anthony and Mary Villano Wells Siclare, he was raised and educated in Port Chester, graduating from Port Chester High School in 1941. Joseph (known as Arjo) was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the European Theater under General Clark and Patton. He married Theresa Mazza on September 4, 1948 at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Port Chester. Joseph was the owner of Arjo Tools in Port Chester for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a devoted parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester. His hobbies included handicapping horses and he enjoyed a day at races with friends and family.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Theresa Siclare of Rye Brook, NY., His children, Anthony Siclare and his wife Catherine of Eastchester, NY., Joseph Siclare and his wife Karen of Ridgefield, CT., Mare Jeffries and husband Will of Southbury, CT., and JoAnn Della Penna of Scarsdale, NY. In addition to his children, Joseph was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren; Alyson Battenfeld and her husband Charles, Andrea Siclare, Dashiell Jeffries, Christian Jeffries, Nicolette Siclare and Harrison Siclare. His great grandchildren are Andrew Battenfeld and Alexander Battenfeld. Joseph was predeceased by his brothers Arthur Siclare and Raymond Siclare and sisters Rose Frattarola and Vincenza Marcucilli.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NYIn lieu of flowers, the family is requesting Memorial donations in memory of Joseph may be made to a veterans charity of one's choice.
