Josephine Walsh of Rye Brook, NY passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY on September 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Pauline (Feraco) Tramontano. She attended Edison Vocational & Technical High School in Mount Vernon, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Harry Walsh. They settled in Rye Brook, where they raised their family.
She was the eldest sibling of Frank (Rosemarie) Tramontano, the late Rosemarie (William) Petrone, and Robert Tramontano.
She was the cherished and adored mother of Michael, Robert, Stephen, Marilyn, and Jim; loving mother-in-law to Alison, Frank, and Nicoleta; and beloved grandmother to Christopher, Casey, Steven, and Robert. She is also survived by four nieces and one nephew. She held a special place in the hearts of her caregivers, Tess, Bie, and Sopia, as well as many dear friends.
She will be greatly missed and remembered for her devotion to her family, her sense of humor, her daily laughter, and the love she brought to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Church, 84 Sherwood Avenue, Greenwich, CT, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 High Street, Rye Brook, NY.
