Julia Margaret Urban born June 2, 1927 died January 25, 2024. A Port Chester Resident for over 65 years.
Predeceased by her husband Robert Joseph Urban; parents Francis David Andrews and Mary Emiliy VerNooy; and her sisters Dorothy Ruth Hennessy and Ethel Elizabeth Hyatt.
Survived by her children: Janet Frances Gomolson and husband Andy Stofko and her son Joseph John Kele (and husband Jeremy); Jean Urban Spadaccia and her daughters Meredith Regan Spadaccia (and husband Woody Batts) and Jennifer Marie Spadaccia; Robert Michael Urban and wife Deborah and sons Robert Anthony Urban (and wife Jenna) and Nicholas James Urban; and John (Ben) David Andrews Urban and wife Karen and their sons Michael Jonathan Urban (and wife Brittany), Matthew Robert Urban (and wife Mackenzie), Mark Alexander Urban (and girlfriend Samatha) and Mitchell Terrance Urban (and fiancee Anna)
Julie grew up in Ellenville, NY. She is a descendant of William Brewster (the Minister on the Mayflower) and several Revolutionary War soldiers.
Julie met her husband Robert while attending Syracuse University as part of the U.S. Cadet Nursing program. They married on Jan 1 1948. She got her Nursing Degree in 1947 and later returned to college to get her Bachelors from Pace University in 1983.
She was a nurse at Port Chester’s United Hospital for over 40 years, a long time member of Summerfield Methodist Church in Port Chester until they closed their doors in 2012 and an active member of Rye Brook’s Senior Center for over 30 years until Covid shut down everything in 2020.
She was known for her caring of others, kind smile and always being thankful for everyone and everything around her. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing bridge and playing rummikub.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4-8PM om Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.
A funeral service will be held 11AM on Thursday February 1, 2024 at the funeral home
