Laurence "Larry" Nethercott, 87 a lifelong resident of Port Chester died July 19, 2022. He was born August 30, 1934 in Port Chester to the late Robert and Anne Curtis Nethercott. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School and also graduating from Iona College with a BA degree in business. Larry was an insurance agent for John Hancock Insurance in Pleasantville, NY. He was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church, a member of the 40/40 club and a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. He was also an EMT and served on the Port Chester Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
"Larry was a lifelong sports fan; heloved watching the NY Mets as well as local sports in town. He always had a great story to tell and entertained many with a clambake story from days gone by. He loved his family and was happiest when he was with them"
Larry is survived by his brothers, Raymond Nethercott and his wife Loretta of Rye Brook, NY., John Nethercott and his wife Elaine of Somers, NY., sisters Anne Ravenda of Woodbury, CT., Janet DeGraw of Gresham, OR. and Regina Nethercott of Galloway, NJ., and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Thomas Nethercott and sister Linda DeBell.
A graveside service will be held 1:00PM on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.
Memorial donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Port Chester/Rye/Rye Brook Ambulance Corps. or to ALS Foundation
