Leonard S. Langonegro, 88, a lifelong resident of Port Chester passed away peacefully on April 18, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born May 8, 1930 in Port Chester to the late Dominick and Eleanor Gravelin Langonegro. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1948. He proudly served in the United State Air Force during the Korean War. He was married on June 14, 1952 in Port Chester to Cornelia Skovron. Mr. Langonegro was an electrician having worked at Empire Brush Company in Port Chester for 25 years and then employed for 25 years at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He was a coach for the Port Chester Babe Ruth Baseball teams for 20 years and was a member of the Port Chester Senior Center. He wrote many articles for The Westmore News. He was an avid fan of the New Yankee's and the Jets.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Cornelia Lagonergo, his dear daughter Gail Fox and her partner Roy Zold, his loving grandson and the apple of his eye Jason Fox and his wife Danielle.
He lived his life for his family. He loved the holidays and birthdays and to be with the family. Loved talking and telling stories about when he was growing up. There was always a smile on his face. Leonard said his family was his biggest accomplishment in life. Funeral services are private.
