Louise Grandazzo, 99, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, NY died November 1, 2025. She was born September 28, 1926 in Port Chester to the late Antonio and Marie Muro Sciandra. She was raised and educated in Port Chester, Louise was married to Richard Grandazzo on May 1, 1949 at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester. Mr. Grandzzo died in 1992. For 50 years Louise worked for Cassone's Bakery in Port Chester; before that she worked for Railway Express and traveled free to Pennsylvania on weekends to visit with her cousins.
Louise was part of a small group of women in town who were known as the "The Belles of Washington Park" they would meet at a friend's house near Marianacci's Restaurant. They ran dances at the Veterans Hall across from the corner of the Capitol Theater. Louise loved attending the sports games of her grandchildren, and attended in spirit the games of her great grandchildren, always asking the results of the games and matches..
She is survived by her beloved children Linda Vaccaro and her husband Vincent of South Salem, NY., Richard Grandazzo, Jr. of Port Chester, NY., and Ronald Grandazzo of Port Chester, NY., her grandchildren Scott Vaccaro and his wife Megan, Marc Vaccaro and his wife Alison, Jill Vaccaro and Danielle Grandazzo, great grandchildren Drew Vaccaro, Layla Vaccaro, Ryder Vaccaro and Gwendolyn Louise Vaccaro and one on the way.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brothers Louis Sciandra, Angelo Sciandra and Anthony "Dave" Sciandra.
Visitation will be 10AM on Friday November 7, 2025 at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church 84 Sherwood Ave. Greenwich, Ct. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM. Interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY
