A memorial gathering for Marie Bivona will be held from 8:30AM to 9:30AM on Friday July 23, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10AM at the Parish of Saint John Bosco (Our Lady of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY
Marie Madelyn Bivona age 95, went to rest peacefully in heaven surrounded by her loving family on June 8, 2020. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J Bivona Sr. after 50 years of marriage. Marie was a lifelong Port Chester resident and lifetime member of Holy Rodasy Church. Marie was a woman of dedicated faith, she loved our Lord and her church.
Marie was the beloved and caring mother to her son, Joseph and her dedicated daughter in law, Laura (Bisaccia) of St. Petersburg Fl. and her son, Leonard (Lee) Bivona of Fairlawn Ohio.
Marie was the loved and adored, “Mema” to many, especially for the last 36 years to her grandchildren, Jaime, Janine & husband Bryce Nyquist, Joseph J Bivona III, Emily and her great grandchildren, Nora Grace and Nolan John.
Also known as “Miss Marie” in Port Chester, especially within the Port Chester Public School System and Holy Rosary Parish communities.
Marie was employed for many years at United Hospital, she retired from the Port Chester School System and the Archdioceses of NY, where she worked at Holy Rosary school until the age of 84. She dedicated time and energy in her younger years and with her husband, Joe as a Cub Scout Den mother for Holy Rosary Troop 10.
Marie resided on Armett St. in the house she was born in for 93 years until moving to the loving and caring communities of The Parsonage Cottage in Greenwich Ct. and The Addington at College Harbor in St. Petersburg Florida to be closer to her children.
Marie joins her husband who predeceased her 26 years ago, her parents, Leonard and Mary Sabia and her great grandsons, Gavin and Chase Nyquist in Heaven.
She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great grand children, many nieces, nephews , and cherished friends, especially the Bisaccia family. She will be greatly missed.
