Mary Ellen (Covino) Gaffney

Mary Ellen Gaffney, 78, a resident of Somers, NY and formerly of Katonah and Port Chester died April 27, 2021. She was born December 27, 1942 in Port Chester to the late Alfred and Mary Flynn Covino.  She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1960. Mary Ellen received her degree in education from East Stroudsburg University and her Masters Degree from University of Bridgeport.  She was a retired employee from Westchester County Parks Department. She previously was a teacher for the Greenwich Public Schools. Mary Ellen is survived by her sons James Gaffney of New Hampshire and Thomas Gaffney and his wife Elithea of New Jersey, brothers Alfred Covino and his wife Margaret of Port Chester, NY and Joseph Covino and his wife Patricia of Fairfield, Ct. sister Judith Ann Vlahovich and her husband Stephen of Greenwich, Ct. and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3-6PM on Thursday April 29, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.,  Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Friday April 30, 2021 at Parish of Saint John Bosco Church (Our Lady of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave,. Port Chester, NY. Interment 11AM Saturday May 1, 2021 at Saint Mary's Cemetery Wilkes-Barre, PA
