Chief Master Sergeant William J. Hegedus a resident of Port Chester since 1970 died March 17, 2020. He was born November 3, 1938 in New York City, NY son of John L. Hegedus and Helen C. Hepworth Hegedus (both deceased).
 He is survived by his wife, Marianne, whom he married September 13, 1975. He is survived by his children William J. Hegedus, Jr., Donna A. Hegedus, John J. Hegedus, James R. Hegedus, Joseph C. Hegedus and Jason S. Hegedus; sister Patricia A. Tuzzo and grandchildren Heather Hegedus, Jennifer Hegedus, Kimberly Hegedus, Jason T. Hegedus, Isabella Hegedus, Vanessa Hegedus, Christopher Hegedus and Emilia Hegedus.
 Chief Hegedus enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957. He was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant in 1988 and retired in 1998 from the 105th Military Airlift Group at Stewart Air National Guard base (ANGB)
 In civilian life, Chief Hegedus retired in 1982 from AT & T after 21 years as Service Manager for the General Foods Corporation. He subsequently had a 16 year career with General Foods/Kraft Foods in Rye Brook, NY and retired in 1999 as a Data Communications Center Shift Manager.
 
All funeral services at this time will be private due to the Covid-19 outbreak
A Mass of Christian Burial will be announces at a later date.
