Maureen E (Fleming) McDonough

Maureen E. McDonough, 90, a longtime resident of Rye Brook, New York entered into eternal life on March 9, 2024. She was born August 3, 1933, in County Kerry, Ireland to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Carmody Fleming.  She was raised and educated in County Cork, Ireland and attended nursing school in England. She then moved to Port Chester, New York.

Maureen was married to Peter McDonough on July 18, 1959. They met in the Catskills, New York and returned to Ireland for their wedding. Mr. McDonough passed away on April 30, 2005. 

Maureen was a nurse at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY, and went on to private duty nursing for many years.  

She was a devoted parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester and a member of the OLM Mother's Club.

Maureen is survived by her beloved children Dawn Cregan of Rye Brook, NY, Patricia Keegan and her husband John "Jackie" Keegan of Scarsdale, NY, and Brian McDonough and his wife Daria of Ridgefield, CT; grandchildren, Caroline Cregan, Sarah Weber, Andrew Cregan, Emily Cregan, Isabella McDonough, Peter McDonough, Olivia McDonough and a great grandchild.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers James Fleming, Michael Fleming, Patrick Fleming, Sean Fleming and sisters Johanna Murphy and Margaret Casey.

Visitation will be 4-8PM on Thursday March 14, 2024, at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Friday March 15, 2024, at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Our Lady of Mercy Church) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY.  Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mrs. McDonough may be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN.
