Michael Costigan Hay, Sr., 78, a resident of Rye Brook, NY died December 7, 2021. He was born December 28, 1942 in Port Chester to the late Frank and Veronica Costigan Hay. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1960. He was the owner and operator of Rye Town Plumbing retiring in 1997. He was also the instructor for Local 86 Plumbers Union in Mount Vernon, NY. Michael was married December 21, 1963 to Catherine Budinoff at Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was a 50 year member of the Washington Engine & Hose Co. # 4 of the Port Chester Fire Department. He was a past captain as well as past president of the company. Michael is survived by his devoted wife Catherine Hay of Rye Brook, NY., his beloved children Michael C. Hay, Jr. of Port Chester, NY., Robert C. Hay of Florida and Lauren Hay of Rye Brook, NY., brother F. Jefferies Hay of Pleasantville, NY. and sister Mary Egner of Mount Kisco, NY., grandchildren Madeleine Suzanne Hay, Francesca Rose Hay, Lilly Josephine Hay, Sarah Louise Patafio and Caroline Patafio. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Suzanne Hay Patafio.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Friday December 10, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Saturday December 11, 2021 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment is private.
