Michele "Michael" Demasi, a resident of Port Chester, NY., died January 20, 2025 on his 80th birthday. He was born in 1945 in Oppido Mamertina, Reggio Calabria, Italy, to the late Luigi and Annamaria Mamone Demasi. At the age of eighteen, he joined the Italian army and was stationed in Rome. After completing his military service, he moved to Australia briefly before immigrating to the United States in 1969. He was married on April 5, 1970 to Concetta Presta at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, NY. Mr. Demasi worked for several years as a welder and truck driver at Post Road Iron Works. He then went on to work as a foreman for the New York State Department of Transportation in Yonkers, NY until his retirement. Michael enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, hunting, making wine, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his beloved wife Concetta Demasi of Port Chester, NY, and his dear sons Luigi Demasi (Sandra) of Ossining, NY. and Frank Demasi (Susanne) of Norwalk, CT. He was a loving Nonno to his grandchildren Peter, Michael, Gabriella, Stephen, Robert, and Paul Demasi. He is also survived by his brother Francesco Demasi and his wife Annunziata of Italy. He was predeceased by his brothers Giuseppe, Domenico, and Rocco Demasi, and sister Annamaria Bagnato.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Monday January 27, 2025 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Entombment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.
