Muriel L. Guinta, 95, a longtime resident of Port Chester, New York, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026.
Born on September 6, 1930, in Spring Lake, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late George Gibson and Mary Banks. During her childhood, Muriel's family moved frequently before eventually settling in Port Chester, where she attended Port Chester High School and graduated with the Class of 1949.
On September 2, 1956, she married, John "Jack" Guinta. They shared more than 62 years of marriage until Jack's passing on February 10, 2019.
Muriel dedicated herself to raising her family as a loving stay-at-home mother. After her children were grown, she worked part-time in a doctor's office. She was a longtime and faithful parishioner of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Rye Brook, New York.
Above all else, Muriel will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Muriel is survived by her sister, Aloha Hicks of Somers, New York; her daughter, Kimberly Guinta of Danbury, Connecticut; her sons, Scott Guinta of Sherman, Connecticut, and Brett Guinta and his wife, Sarah, of Riverside, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Jessica Lopriore, Jennifer Lopriore, John Guinta and his wife, Emily, and Zachary Guinta; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Ariana Lopriore Rosenstrach, Tanner Guinta, Christian Guinta, Tessa McKenna, Phinnegan DiRenno, and Giacomo DiRenno.
In addition to her beloved husband, Jack, Muriel was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Sawicki and Janet LaBella, and her brother, Daniel Janz.
Muriel's legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Memorial donations in Muriel's memory may be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Rye Brook, New York.
Visitation will be 5-9PM on Thursday July 9, 2026 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be 10AM on Friday July 10, 2026 at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church 761 King Street Rye Brook, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
