Robert P. Gerardi passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his upstate home. He was born in Port Chester on November 6, 1956, to Paul F. Gerardi, Jr. and Barbara (Strozza) Gerardi, who both predeceased him. He was a graduate of Rye High School. Robert is survived by his loving daughters, Christine Varbero (Terrell) and Tara Orlando and husband Joseph, and his cherished grandson Anthony Robert Orlando, as well as his siblings Paul R. Gerardi and wife Stephanie, Karen Foy and husband Brian, Steven Gerardi and wife Veronica and his former spouse Ann (Scafa) Gerardi. His memory also lives on with his many nieces and nephews.
His family was his greatest joy. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He valued the time spent with family and friends. He had a big heart and was a loyal friend who always cared. Rob lived a life of service and touched many lives through his many experiences.
He served as Chief of the Port Chester Fire Department in 1995 and; 1996. He worked for the Town of Rye Highway Department, the Village of Rye Brook Highway Department, the Village of Rye Brook as Assistant Building Inspector, and the Village of Tuckahoe as Assistant Building Inspector. He retired from the Village of Scarsdale as Fire Inspector.
He enjoyed his daily breakfast and conversations at Marini’s Deli and attending the Annual Cigar Palooza in Florida each November. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting along with family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10AM at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent Street. Port Chester, NY He will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook.
