Robert Wayne Mertz was a proud man. Proud of his heritage, proud of himself, and proud of what he created. His passion matched his pride, and when he got a hold of something, nothing could break his focus. He was vibrant and full of life, and he put all that life into whatever he did. People described him as a force of nature.

He married Rae Ann Mertz and fathered one son, started a successful business, and moved to Los Angeles, California in 1986, where he lived until 2007 and finally settled in Austin, TX.
Bob had a lot of passions. He was passionate about business. He was passionate about music. And he was passionate about providing a home for his family. There wasn't a moment that went by that he wasn't harnessing his entrepreneurial spirit and brainstorming new ideas. He was successful in all aspects of business, including entertainment fulfillment, locomotive sales, and numismatics (coins), which was a hobby he got to enjoy up until his death.
