Robert Nicholas Vilato

It is with a heavy and sorrowful heart that the Vilato Family announce the passing of Robert Nicholas Vilato at the age of 38.  Robert is survived by his beautiful son, Robbie, his loving parents, Robert and Francine Vilato, and his caring siblings, Michael Vilato (Kim Vilato) and Lauren Greco (Chris Greco), his nieces Karly and Kaitlyn, his nephew Cameron, and his grandfather Poppop, as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Robert was born into the adoring arms of his parents on September 29, 1982. As a child Robert was a dynamic, rambunctious and good-humored soul. That same energy grew with him into adulthood. He was quick witted, intuitive and a protector by nature. Even though he was Mike’s little brother and Lauren’s older brother, he gave love in such a way that made you feel like he was your big brother. Robert enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with friends and family whether he was four wheeling in upstate New York or fishing in the waves of Hutchinson Island. He made his countless friends and family feel the warmth of his love with big hugs and roaring laughter. To those that knew him, it seemed impossible that Robert’s heart or smile could grow to be bigger but along came his son, and Robert’s heart grew exponentially. Nothing made Robert happier than being a father and seeing his little boy flourish in school or playing with his cousins.
To say Robert will be greatly missed is an understatement. For those that loved him, there will be heartache for several lifetimes. Robert will be remembered with the same fierce spirit in which he showed us love.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday August 27, 2021 at Parish of St. John Bosco/Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY

There will be no visitation
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN
