Rosemary Christine De George, 69, a lifelong resident of Port Chester and a devoted teacher, died January 25, 2020. Rosemary was born on August 17, 1950 in Port Chester to the late Victor and Frances Storino De George. She graduated in 1969 from Academy of The Resurrection in Rye, NY. She received her bachelors in education in 1972 from SUNY New Paltz and her masters in 1976 in education and reading from College of New Rochelle. Rosemary was an english and reading teacher at Port Chester Middle School from 1981 to 2013 and was a team leader who cared deeply for her students and co-workers. She retired in June, 2013. From 1979 to 1981, she was a reading specialist for the Port Chester Rye UFSD #4 and also taught GED from 1981 to 1982 at the Port Chester High School. Her first job teaching in her beloved profession was at Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School grades 1 and 2 from 1972 to 1975 & 1976 to 1979. After her retirement, she taught at the afterschool program at the Don Bosco Center. She was a devoted member of the Corpus Christi Church and a held special devotion to Saint Jude. Rosemary was a major contributor to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital for 45 years. She was a member of the retired Port Chester Teachers' Association. Rosemary is survived by her beloved brother Victor N. De George, Esq., of Old Greenwich, Ct., her twin uncles Salvatore (Roseann) Di Giorgio and Louis (Lucille) Di Giorgio all of Port Chester, NY., and aunt Rose De George of Florida. She is also survived by many cousins including her special cousin Maryjane Santoianni of Milford, Ct.
