Rosemary (Licata) Embrendo

Rosemary A. Embrendo, 90, a beloved longtime resident of Rye Brook, NY, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devoted service to others. She was born November 7, 1935, in Port Chester, NY, and was raised in the community she would call home for her entire life. Rosemary graduated from Port Chester High School in 1953 before pursuing her true calling, going on to earn her nursing degree from Mercy College School of Nursing in Springfield, MA.
 

On October 10, 1959, Rosemary married the love of her life, Vincent Embrendo, at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester – the same parish that would anchor her faith for decades to come. Together they built a life full of warmth and devotion until Vincent’s passing in February 2011.

Rosemary’s dedication to caring for others defined her in every aspect of her life. She served as a Registered Nurse at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich CT for many years and then worked as a private duty nurse for families throughout Greenwich; she couldn’t step away from those who needed her. Her patients were never just patients – they were people she genuinely cared for. Her generous spirit found expression in her volunteer work at Greenwich Hospital where she hand-knitted prayer shawls for cancer patients. She also served as a volunteer aide to assist families navigating the ambulatory surgery center during some of their most anxious moments. Additionally, she volunteered at Corpus Christi Church as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Holy Communion to the homebound who were unable to attend Mass.
 

Above all, Rosemary treasured her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Larsen and son-in-law Paul of Rye, NY; her son William Embrendo of Rye Brook, NY; her cherished grandchildren Kerry (Bill) Camarra, Jamie Larsen, and Adam Larsen; and her precious great-granddaughter Parker Rae Camarra, who will carry her light forward.
 

Rosemary was predeceased by her parents; father Richard Licata, mother Mary Bucci Peisker, and stepfather Herbert Peisker; beloved husband Vincent and his family who loved her like a daughter; her dear sister Barbara and brother-in-law Col. Joseph Ingenloff; her nephew Michael Ingenloff, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins she loved so deeply.
 

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00PM on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent Street, Port Chester, NY. Entombment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY.

Memorial donations in memory of Rosemary may be made to The Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
