Roy Abbott Thonnesen, Sr.

Mr. Roy Abbott Thonnesen, Sr., 96, a resident of Port Chester died January 24, 2022. He was born January 16, 1926 in Sunderland, England to the late Oscar William and Edith Taylor Thonnesen.  He was raised and educated in England and served in the Royal British Army as a Royal Engineer from 1944 to 1948.  He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and in 1953 married Susan Margaret Reid.  Mrs. Thonnesen died April 30, 2015.

He worked as an engineer for Camotone, Inc. and later worked at Blind Brook Lodge in Rye, NY  Mr. Thonnesen is survived by his sons, Trevor Thonnesen, Roy Thonnesen, Jr., and Eric Thonnesen and his wife Ana all of Port Chester, NY., grandchildren Christian Thonnesen, Alex Thonnesen, Amy Thonnesen and Kaylin Thonnesen.  Besides his wife he was predeceased by his siblings Eileen Jirschitzka, Alfred Thonnesen and Ida Reisner.

Funeral Services will be private.
