Santa Varbaro Ciancio was welcomed into Jesus’ arms on Thursday April 16, 2020. She was born September 6,1928 in Port Chester to Angelo Varbaro and Francesca DeFranco Varbaro. Her parents predeceased her in 1972 and 1974 respectively. On October 2, 1955 she married Salvatore Ciancio at Holy Rosary Church. Santa was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. For many years she worked at Fawcett Publications in Greenwich, CT and then at CBS publications as a supervisor until her retirement in 1981. She loved her New York Mets, a good cup of coffee, word search puzzles and most especially being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her whole face would light up and she was so proud of her granddaughters Jenna and Dara and her joy was multiplied now by the birth of her her great granddaughter Arabella. She was raised in Port Chester and attended Horton School and Port Chester Middle and High School. She was a great cook, a great friend to all who knew her and above all put her family first.
She is survived by her husband Salvatore, her daughter Angela and husband Lou Pecora, granddaughters Jenna and Dara and partner James Norris and great granddaughter Arabella Rose Norris. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Chiappetta and Rochina DeCarlo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners hospital for children or st Jude Children’s hospital .
