Stephen Ianello, Esq. of New York City and formerly of Port Chester died June 8, 2020 at the age of 61. He was born March 10, 1959 in Greenwich, CT. to Joseph Ianello, Sr. and the late Rita Degiacomo Ianello. He was raised and educated in Port Chester having attended Holy Rosary School in Port Chester, graduating from Arch Bishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. He went on to graduate from Holy Cross College, Suffolk Law School and New York University.
Mr. Ianello was an attorney, initially working for the Town of Rye Brook, NY and then the IRS. He spent the last 29 years with Con-Edison Utilities as their Tax Director. He was an avid runner and a member of the New York Road Runners. He ran the New York City Marathon. He enjoyed traveling, visiting many parts of the world. He loved being with family and friends and was a godfather to many. He was an avid reader, collector of first editions and a connoisseur of fine wines. He was an advocate for social reform and supported many organizations dedicated to helping those in need. He gave counsel and support to family and friends throughout the years.
He is survived by his beloved father Joseph Ianello, Sr. of Port Chester, NY, his brothers Joseph L. Ianello and his wife Ava of Suffield, CT and Robert S. Ianello and his wife Denise of East Amherst, NY, nieces and nephews Catherine, Thomas, Zachary, Ashley and Courtney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM on Saturday June 13, 2020 at Parish of Saint John Bosco 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. There will be no visitation. Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY
