Susan A. Covino, 74, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died December 3, 2023. She was born March 23, 1949 in Port Chester to the late Peter and Rosemary Leary Covino. Sue was a graduate of the Resurrection Academy in Rye, NY in 1967, going on to graduate from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY with a Bachelor's Degree. She was a teacher for 34 years in the Port Chester School District retiring in 2006.
Sue was a devoted parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester, a member of the Seton Circle, member and past president of the Altar Society and was a counter for the weekly collections. She was on the Board of Directors for the Port Chester Council for the Arts, past president of the Port Chester Teachers Credit Union and founding member of the Literacy Through Arts.
Sue is survived by her longtime partner Richard "Coach" Pappalardo of Rye, NY, along with many cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Patricia Covino in 2016.
Visitation will be 8:30am to 9:30am on Friday December 8, 2023 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10AM at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Our Lady of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
