Thomas McPhillips, a resident of Rye Brook, NY (formerly of New Rochelle and Bronx, NY) died peacefully at home on Dec 14th, 2020, alongside his immediate family. He was born on Sep. 10th, 1919 in Tempo, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland to the late Hugh and Mary Cassidy McPhillips. He was the youngest of sixteen, and the last of his generation. He immigrated to New York in 1949. He was married Jan. 10th, 1954 to Angela McGurrin, who predeceased him on Jan. 9th, 1989, after 35 years of marriage. He was initially employed by his brother Frank as a mechanic, owned McHugh & McPhillips Bar and Grill, Bronx, NY, and later retired from Hockmeyer Equipment Co., NJ. He is survived by his daughters Ann (Peter) Albert, Mary (Thomas) Mitchell and grandson Danny. He was predeceased by his grandson Stephen and son-in-law Peter. He was beloved by all. On his 100th birthday he celebrated with his numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who travelled from Belgium, Australia, England, Ireland, Canada, and all points across the USA to share in his centennial. A mass will be celebrated after the Christmas holiday, with an interment in the near future.
