VICTOR FRANK PATERNO, 90 AND LUCILLE ANITA PATERNO, 91
Lucille A. Paterno, 91, of Yonkers, NY passed on April 30, 2020 from the COVID 19 virus. She was born in Bronx, NY on June 28,1928, youngest of four children and daughter of Rocco and Mary (Santarsiero) Tronto. After graduation from Jane Addams Vocational High School in 1945, she pursued a career for several years as a beautician. She married Victor F. Paterno on January 29, 1956. Lucille and Victor resided in Yonkers, NY, where they raised their two sons, Victor F. Paterno, Jr. and Gregory Paterno. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend. Her passion for animals, her family and her home were her greatest loves. She is survived by their son Victor F. Paterno, Jr. of Rye Brook, NY, three grandchildren, Victor J. Paterno of Brooklyn, NY, Brett J. Paterno of Chappaqua, NY, Jenna L. Paterno of New York City and her sister Marie Schneeberger from Florida.
Two weeks later, on May 14, Victor F. Paterno, 90, of Yonkers, NY passed from the Covid 19 virus as well. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on October 8, 1929, youngest of four children and son of Frank and Grace (DiPiro) Paterno. Following graduation from Davis High School, Mt. Vernon in 1946, he served in the New York Air National Guard at Westchester County Airport as part of the 137th Fighter Squadron. When his NYANG duty ended, Victor became active in the construction industry. Later, joined by his brother Peter Paterno, the two further developed and grew their family business, Paterno Contracting. During his long career, Victor was a valued industry advisor and volunteer to numerous trade associations, he served as a member of several trade boards and was a founding CIC Association board member. He will be remembered for his work and dedication to an industry he so enjoyed and for the love of his family that he always put first. Victor married Lucille (Toronto) Paterno on January 29, 1956. They resided in Yonkers, NY where they raised their two sons Victor F. Paterno, Jr. and Gregory Paterno. He is survived by their son Victor F. Paterno, Jr. of Rye Brook, NY, three grandchildren Victor J. Paterno of Brooklyn, NY, Brett J. Paterno of Chappaqua, NY, Jenna L. Paterno of New York City and his sister Louise Sabia of Poughquag, NY.
On May 22, 2020 their younger son Gregory Paterno, of Bedford, NY, died from the Covid 19 virus. He is survived by his wife, Susan Paterno, and his brother Victor F. Paterno, Jr.
