Vito Barbara Obituary


Vito A. Barbara, 86, a life long resident of Port Chester died December 1, 2019. He was born April 17, 1933 in Port Chester to the late Vito and Anna Moore Barbara.  He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1951.  Mr. Barbara served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska.  He was married to Gloria Sposta on January 30, 1960 at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.  Mrs. Barbara died September 23, 2014.  Vito was a machinist a Pitney Bowes in Stamford, Ct. until his retirement in 1995.  He loved animals and at a young age rescued neighborhood animals.  Mr. Barbara is survived by his beloved children Mary Barbara-Barney, Christopher Barbara, Ann Barbara and Steven Barbara, grandchildren Nicholas Barbara, Jake Barbara, Matthew Barbara, Andrew Barbara and Jessica Semp and sister Agnes Terenzi. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his sister Theresa Buzzeo.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Wednesday December 4, 2019 at parish of St. John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Paws Crossed 100 Warehouse Lane Elmsford, NY  10523  www.pawscrossedny.org
