William N. (“Chip”) Berech, Jr., a resident of Rye Brook, New York, died unexpectedly on June 30, 2023. He was 52 years old. Chip was born in New York City, Borough of Manhattan (New York County) on February 18, 1971
to the late William N. Berech and Mildred Curto Berech. Both sets of grandparents (Berech/Curto) predeceased his birth. In November 1971, Chip moved with his parents to 64 Hillcrest Avenue, in what is now Rye Brook,
Westchester County, New York. He was educated in the Port Chester School District System, and graduated from Port Chester High School, Class of1989. Chip had many interests, including current events, international relations,
and politics. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed watching professional and college football games as well as boxing tournaments and tennis matches.
Chip is survived by his cousins, Mr. William Archer of Old Lyme, CT., and Ms. Libby Archer of Deep River, CT., as well as numerous cousins and good friends across the United States. Chip will be remembered as having a sense of humor, a good nature and a caring heart. He was especially kind to animals.
A graveside service will be held 12:30pm on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, New York. A memorial service is planned for later this year. Arrangements are being coordinated by Craft Memorial Home, 40Leicester Street, Port Chester, New York (914) 939-0131.
