Dear Joseph, Antoinette, and Anne,
I was so saddened to have seen the news if your mom's passing in the Westmore News while visiting family over the weekend. She was actually one of my "first friends" as a child going back to when I was 4 years old. We lived in the same apartment house as next door neighbors on Grace Church Street. I used to spend almost every day in your apartment with your mom before all three of your were born.I would play with one pewter ashtray and a clothes pin, and she would play my favorite record of her's "Dance Ballerina Dance" by Vaughn Monroe. I always sat very contented in front of the Victrola with the ashtray and clothes pin. I remember her famous fried potatoes that you can smell from the the hallway! Over the years long after I moved out of Port Chester, I often thought of her and wondered where she was. I would have like to see her again, but sorry that she is gone. I am sure that you miss her very much already, she will always be in our hearts!
