Uncle Anthony was my Godfather. I have many memories of him from my family's trips to Port Chester as a child. I remember him as a very kind, gentle, and generous man. A very busy, hardworking man. On those rare occasions when he had time to sit and visit at 19 Eldredge street, he had funny stories. He and Aunt Bianca were so kind to my sister Marcia and I. When Melanie and I played at Carnegie with the CSO, he and Aunt Bianca surprised us at the stage door after the concert. One night during my father's last days, they surprised us by showing up at the hospital late one evening, just having flown in from New York. On my father's last visit to Port Chester, during the Christmas season of 1988, Uncle Anthony was the person he wanted most to see before he died. His life was truly well-lived. Although the time I spent with him was limited by growing up a thousand miles away, he made a huge impression on me, and I will never forget him. Melanie and I send our sincere condolences to all of you.

My sincere condolences to the family of Dr Mascia.
He was my doctor many years ago. My parents were Anthony aka "Sonny Vac" and Blanche Vaccaro...we lived on Perry Avenue in Port Chester. To this day, (I am 60 years old) Dr. Mascia was my favorite doctor! I remember him being so kind and gentle. My parents
spoke highly of him as well.
What a blessing to have him for almost 101 years! May he rest in peace..

Uncle A was a gentleman, for sure. He was always so welcoming and loving when I would visit. A great conversationalist. He genuinely cared what was going on in my life. I wish I could have spent more time with him.

This is a loss, not only for our family, but for all he touched.

RIP dear uncle.

To the Mascia Family: My heartfelt condolences. I grew up a half a block away and my Dad, Dr. Peter Cassone, always spoke highly of Dr. Mascia. I even have some 8mm of myself and John in HS.
Dr. Abenavoli, who had an office across Westchester Avenue, lived to his late 90's I believe. Dad was there just before he passed and the good Doctor was so happy because he just had a grandson born. His quote became part of our family lore. In broken Italian-English he said with a smile, "One -a- come. One -a- go."
The old Port Chester medical guard is just about gone now but I will always remember these men, humble war heroes, hard-workers and always giving. We are blessed to have had them in our lives.

Sincere condolences to you all on the loss of Dr. Mascia. I was a young kid when he rented his office from Mr. Shaw on Soundview Street. We lived next door and visited Dr. Mascia on many occasions needing his medical help, He was a DOCTOR
helping his patients and we were friends to him. You are truly blessed to have had him for such a very long time.
God Bless you all, Katherine (Bellantoni) Perna
