My mom, Hilda Gandara, was a seamstress and worked on Seventh Avenue for many years with Jerry. She and Rose Arcuri made the original samples from Jerry's designs. I think the firm was called Vilano; owned by Eli Elias. I remember him well; he came to my wedding in 1971. Mom died in May '16; just before Jerry. I'm sure they're still talking fashion in heaven.
