Fr. Gelsomino was truly a great man. I was privileged to have him as a teacher and a mentor at Archbishop Stepinac H.S. He was godly, yet down to earth. I will NEVER forget him. He was one of several people who made me who I am today! Rest In Peace Padre Pete! I will miss you.

So very sad. What a great Priest/Monsignor and friend to our entire family. RIP Pete. You married us . .you baptised our children. I sure hope that the nurses were able to give you my message of love and prayers. The Corcoran Family loves you. I can still hear your voice singing at our wedding over 4 decades ago. And the laughs we had at the restaurants over the years. You were one of a kind. And that is why 3 generations of our family loved you.

When I think of my years at Stepinac and see Fr. Pete with the "S" on his chest, I know it did not stand for Stepinac or even Superman. It stood for Sacrifice. His whole life was about sacrifice and giving. From my first year of religion classes, Right to Life meetings, pep rallies, football games with the bugle and cheer, to my senior year trip to Russia, Fr. Pete was always giving of himself. He later officiated my wedding and provided a sermon that friends and family still remember on what marriage and sacrifice means in this world. Thank you Lord for showing us the good in men. Thank you for Fr. Pete.

My wife and I attended Fr. Gelsomino's latin mass service on sunday mornings. He was truly a great man and he helped us more than he could know. His sermons were filled with straight truth and profound wisdom. What a great loss.

"Отец Джельсомино" was a great and wonderful man and an enormous part of my superb Stepinac experience. I will always remember his great joy of teaching, his marvelous enthusiasm for Russian language and culture, his most impressive art and calligraphy skills, and his fantastic school spirit ...and of course his self-administered haircuts and his regular admonishment: "You Westchester kids got no faith!" May you rest in peace.

Truly a man of the ages, there was no better priest or man than Fr. Pete. Knew him as a teacher, pastor, and friend, what a great caring man. Fr. Pete time to take it easy now for all you have done, rest in peace Padre Pietro.
