Nick was a very dear friend for over two decades. His loss is devestating to me; it must be so much worse for his family. He sent pears from Oregon annually, and I searched out the best Wisconsin cheese to send to him a few times a year. His visits to Waunakee were filled with the best ever road trips to winerys, cheese factories, and exotic restaurants. I have his recipe for Cajun Pulled Pork, which I will treasure forever. As he would have wanted, pull a cork in his honor.

Nick was a good guy. Different and interesting in many ways. A smart person with a very kind nature. One of Edgeland's memorable people. RIP Nick

To George, Bill and all who knew Nick: My thoughts are of the good times Nick and I shared together. I would have never come to love the Moody Blues, if I hadn't met Nick. His love for the "Hobbit", especially for Tom Bambadhl, the keeper of the Forest, created a common bond for us, as we would greet each other by saying, "Old Tom." Our days working in the Post Office, forged for me a friendship that will last forever. I miss you my dear friend, "Old Tom."

To Bill & George,

I'm so sad to read of Nicky's passing. He was a gentile soul who passed much too soon, he will be missed by many. Having grown up on Armett street I count myself as being blessed for the lifelong friendship with Nick and the entire Melone family. He was truly a good and decent man. Rest In Peace old friend

We are so very saddened to hear that Nikki has passed away. He was such a happy sweet man. I cannot remember a time when he was not smiling. He would come in to work each morning and entertain us with what he called his daily message of “useless information.” We always looked forward to hearing what his daily message would be. He was a caring man. He was a generous man who was helpful to all who needed encouragement or assistance. We have such fond memories of Nikki. Thinking of him always put a smile on our faces, though now that joyful feeling of nostalgia is combined with the taste of salty tears. God bless Nikki. He is now in Your care, sweet Jesus.
